LAD Series Isenthalpic Adiabatic Cooling UnitIsenthalpic Adiabatic Cooling
An isenthalpic adiabatic cooling unit combining adiabatic pre-cooling with air-side heat exchange for improved cooling capacity in high-temperature conditions.
The LAD series is an isenthalpic adiabatic cooling unit developed by LANXUN for high-temperature arid regions. Its core technology places an adiabatic pre-cooling section at the air inlet — spraying water mist cools the intake air to near wet-bulb temperature through an isenthalpic process (adiabatic humidification) before it enters the finned-tube heat exchanger to exchange heat with the in-tube medium. This strategy of "pre-cooling the air first, then dry-cooling the medium" keeps cooling capacity close to normal-temperature levels even in 40°C environments. Compared with pure air-cooled units, adiabatic pre-cooling can improve heat exchange capacity by 30%–50%. Covering 12 models from 35 to 170m³/h, it is the ideal cooling solution for high-temperature water-scarce regions such as the Middle East and Northwest China.
Key Highlights
Adiabatic Pre-Cooling Boosts High-Temperature Heat Exchange
Intake air is cooled by adiabatic humidification before entering the heat exchanger, improving heat exchange capacity by 30%–50% over pure air cooling at 40°C.
Water-Saving and Energy-Efficiency Optimization
Adiabatic spraying is activated only during high-temperature periods; pure dry cooling with zero water consumption operates most of the year, far below wet cooling towers in water use.
Compact Modular Design
V-shaped finned-tube heat exchanger + bottom axial fan, compact structure; modular combination flexibly expands cooling capacity.
Adapts to High-Temperature Arid Regions
Designed specifically for 40°C+ environments; the adiabatic pre-cooling section effectively compensates for air-cooling capacity decay at high temperatures.
Working Principle and Structural Features
The following content is excerpted from the LAD Series Isenthalpic Adiabatic Cooling Unit product manual
Working Principle
The LAD series isenthalpic adiabatic cooling unit is an evaporative-enthalpy natural and forced-cooling closed chilled-water system; the unit consists of an air/water heat exchanger, axial fans, and more; the standard condition is based on standard atmospheric pressure with inlet water temperature 37℃, outlet water temperature 32℃, and ambient dry-bulb temperature 28℃.
The unit can be optionally fitted with a wet film or atomizing device for adiabatic cooling to significantly improve performance, and the number and power of fans can be adjusted to actual operating conditions. Fan motor start/stop uses a variable frequency drive (VFD) for the most precise capacity control; the fan on gives 100% capacity and the fan off gives about 10% capacity.
The LAD series adiabatic tower is shipped as a single module; apart from external piping, electrical connections, and required optional items, it basically requires no on-site assembly. The unit is fixed to the support steel frame with M12 or M16 bolts, and rubber vibration pads are added at the connection to the ground to reduce noise.
Isenthalpic Adiabatic Cooling
A wet film or atomizing device can be optionally added for adiabatic cooling to significantly improve unit performance.
Axial Fan
An axial fan dedicated to cooling towers, designed and made with aviation technology, 400-5000mm in diameter, with large flow and medium-low pressure, high efficiency, energy saving, low noise, and adjustable angle; it consists of a motor, blades, guide cylinder, support frame, and mesh guard.
Variable-Frequency Capacity Control
The variable frequency drive (VFD) provides the most precise capacity control, with fewer motor starts and smoother operation; it is especially suitable for cold-climate operation, adjusting airflow to minimize icing, and the motor can also be reversed to de-ice.
Modular Unit Structure
The unit is shipped as a single module and basically needs no on-site assembly; it is fixed to the support steel frame with M12 or M16 bolts, with rubber vibration pads at the ground connection to reduce noise.
