HMK Square Cross-Flow Dual-Path Anti-Plume Water-Saving Cooling TowerDual-Path Anti-Plume & Water-Saving
A square cross-flow dual-path cooling tower combining plume suppression with water-saving operation.
The HMK dual-path anti-plume series is a patented water-saving plume-abatement product of LANXUN. By adding dry and wet paths operating in parallel to the traditional cross-flow tower, it achieves both high-efficiency heat exchange and plume suppression. The wet path handles the main heat dissipation, while the dry path uses the residual heat of the hot humid air to reheat the discharged air so that it does not condense into visible plume after leaving the tower. At the same time, the dual-path design effectively recovers evaporated water vapor, achieving a water-saving rate of 20%–30%. Equipped with fourth-generation high-efficiency fill and a 48.6dB(A) ultra-quiet fan, it is the preferred solution for urban-core and residential-area projects.
Key Highlights
Dual-Path Plume-Abatement Design
Dry and wet paths run in parallel; the dry path reheats the discharged air, effectively eliminating visible plume, especially in winter.
Plume Suppression
Through thermodynamic reheating, the exhaust moisture content stays below saturation, so there is no visible plume even in low-temperature, high-humidity environments.
48.6dB(A) Ultra-Quiet
Multiple noise-reduction measures including airfoil low-noise fan, silencer louvers, and anti-vibration base keep noise as low as 48.6dB(A).
Fourth-Generation High-Efficiency Fill
Uses S-wave modified PVC fill with a larger specific surface area, improving the heat exchange coefficient by 15%, B1 flame-retardant, with a service life of ≥20 years.
Water Saving of 20%–30%
The plume-suppression process simultaneously recovers evaporated water vapor, saving 20%–30% of annual water compared to ordinary open towers.
Working Principle and Structural Features
The following content is excerpted from the HMK Square Cross-Flow Dual-Path Anti-Plume Water-Saving Cooling Tower product manual
Working Principle
When a cooling tower operates in periods of low outside air temperature, the inlet air is heated and humidified by the circulating water and becomes exhaust air; as the exhaust air cools, diffuses, and returns to the inlet-air state in the outside air, the water vapor in the portion above the saturation curve condenses, producing white plume.
The fill of an anti-plume cooling tower is divided into a dry section and a wet section: the heated, humidified exhaust air passing through the wet section mixes, beneath the fan, with the dry air that has been heated through the dry section without increasing its absolute humidity, and is then discharged from the tower; the mixed exhaust air does not intersect the saturation curve as it returns to the outside-air state, thereby preventing white plume.
The open anti-plume cooling tower has no moving parts, so there is no concern about maintenance or performance degradation; it is made of the same materials as the standard cooling tower and installed in much the same way. Model selection is based on anti-plume performance, cooling capacity, and footprint conditions.
Fourth-Generation Heat-Dissipation Fill
It combines air guiding, heat dissipation, and water collection in one, with a flow path height of 2500~4000mm; the surface has a fine texture so the water forms a film without splashing, providing a long heat-exchange time and good hydrophilicity.
Honeycomb Air Inlet Design
The air-inlet end of the fill has a honeycomb inlet inclined at 30°; the inlet air shows three-dimensional characteristics, sunlight can hardly reach the fill surface so algae are less likely to grow, the air load is evenly distributed, and the heat-exchange intensity is stable.
High-Efficiency Drift Eliminator
A drift eliminator designed on the impingement-separation principle is installed at the end of the fill, effectively controlling drift loss to one part in 100,000 and meeting European environmental standards.
Hanging Flame-Retardant Fill
The fill is installed by hanging without bonding, making installation simple and cleaning easy; it is vacuum-formed in one piece from premium new flame-retardant PVC sheet, withstands 55℃, and has a guaranteed service life of more than 15 years.
Low-Noise Power System
Equipped with a high-efficiency axial fan, a dedicated low-noise belt reducer, and a fully sealed, energy-saving, low-noise motor dedicated to cooling towers, the complete unit achieves an extremely quiet noise level as low as 48.6dB(A).
G235 Steel Tower Body
All-steel tower top, all-steel plate supports, and side panels using a G235 hot-dip galvanized steel frame; the tower body material is available in all-galvanized steel plate (-G), all-stainless steel plate (-S), or FRP enclosure (-FG/-FS).
