LF Axial FanLF Axial Fan for Cooling Towers
Axial fan designed specifically for cooling towers, with high efficiency and reliable long-term operation in hot, humid environments.
The LF series axial fan is a core ventilation component independently developed by LANXUN Technology for the hot, humid operating conditions of cooling towers. It uses a high-efficiency airfoil blade design and a two-stage reduction gearbox drive to ensure stable long-term operation in saturated humid air. The fan is flexible in configuration and can be matched with motors from leading domestic and international brands such as ABB, Siemens, and WEG, while the impeller is available in aluminum alloy, FRP, and stainless steel. Every fan undergoes G2.5-grade dynamic balancing before leaving the factory, with a vibration value of ≤2.8 mm/s. It is widely used in the ventilation systems of circulating water cooling equipment in the chemical, petroleum, power, textile, and metallurgy industries, and is the power heart of efficient heat dissipation in cooling towers.
Key Highlights
Designed for Hot, Humid Environments
Motor protection rating IP55 or higher, double-sealed bearings, and a waterproofed terminal box ensure normal operation at 100% relative humidity.
High-Efficiency Airfoil Blades
A large-twist airfoil blade profile optimized through CFD fluid simulation delivers a static pressure efficiency of over 75%, with significant energy savings.
Two-Stage Reduction Gearbox Drive
A spiral bevel gearbox between the motor and impeller provides two-stage reduction, with a precise ratio, smooth operation, and low noise.
High-Grade Alloy Steel Gears
Gears are made of 20CrMnTi alloy steel, carburized, hardened, and precision-ground, with a tooth surface hardness of HRC58-62, strong load capacity, and long life.
Flexible Motor Configuration
Supports optional motors from brands such as ABB, Siemens, WEG, and Teco, with voltages of 380V/660V/6kV/10kV and variable-frequency compatibility.
Multiple Impeller Materials
Aluminum alloy impeller (lightweight and efficient), FRP impeller (corrosion-resistant), and stainless steel impeller (high-temperature resistant), selected according to operating conditions.
Dynamic Balancing Assurance
Every fan undergoes G2.5-grade dynamic balancing before delivery, with a vibration velocity of ≤2.8 mm/s and smooth, resonance-free operation.
Working Principle and Structural Features
The following content is excerpted from the LF Axial Fan product manual
Working Principle
The LF series cooling tower fan is an axial fan designed specifically for cooling towers. It not only supplies the required air volume and pressure but also delivers high efficiency and can operate normally over the long term in the hot, humid environment of a cooling tower.
This equipment is suitable for circulating water cooling systems in industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals, power, textiles, and metallurgy. The complete unit consists of a motor, drive shaft, gearbox, impeller, and oil level piping, with fan diameters ranging from 4700 mm to 10060 mm.
The fan range covers more than a dozen models from LF42D to LF100, with air volumes from 450,000 to 3,250,000 m³/h. Single-speed, two-speed, three-speed, explosion-proof, and high-voltage motors can be configured according to the customer's needs.
Two-Stage Reduction Gearbox
The gearbox uses a two-stage reduction drive combining a spiral bevel gear pair and helical gears. It is compact, transmits high power, runs smoothly and reliably with low noise, and the gears are made of high-grade alloy steel.
Oil Bath and Splash Lubrication
Lubrication combines oil bath immersion with splash-flow lubrication; the oil slinger delivers oil to the oil reservoir, from which it flows through passages to lubricate the bearings. The high-speed shaft inlet uses a lip seal or mechanical seal.
Diaphragm Coupling Drive Shaft
The drive shaft is made of thin-walled steel tube, two half-couplings, and a diaphragm. It undergoes strict dynamic balancing tests and adjustment before leaving the factory to ensure reliable operation.
Multiple Airfoil Impeller Options
The impeller consists of blades and a hub and is balanced before delivery. A variety of airfoils and blade combinations are available to meet different operating conditions.
Externally Routed Oil Level Piping
The oil level gauge is made of galvanized water-gas pipe routed horizontally out of the fan stack, making it easy to observe the actual oil level in the gearbox; oil can also be added or drained through the gauge's threaded port.
Dual Oil Temperature and Vibration Monitoring
N150 heavy-duty industrial gear oil is used, and the operating oil temperature must not exceed 86℃; the maximum vibration velocity at the gearbox input shaft bearing housing is controlled within 4.50–6.30 mm/s depending on the model.
